Green Halloween
"You were once a yellow pumpkin
sitting on a sturdy vine,
Now you are a Jack-o'-lantern,
let your little light shine."
Here at Sarah's Silks we love celebrating festivals! Halloween is a fun one that can be spent doing activities all month that are out in nature and nurturing for young children.
Wonderful ideas for a green, earth-friendly Halloween include pumpkin patch visits, followed by pumpkin carving and baking and eating pumpkin treats. Long walks gathering fall leaves and acorns. Baking bread, making candles, sitting by the fire, and of course, dressing up!
Playsilks are one of the best, most creative tools for making your own costume. We've seen children use them to become ghosts, witches, genies, flying machines, almost anything you can imagine can be created (with a bit of added magic) with a special colored Playsilk.
Adding Face Paint makes even more characters possible - think tiger stripes on cheeks paired with a tiger Playsilk.
Trick-or-treat baskets are another great earth-friendly way to stay away from plastics. Baskets are beautiful and will be used over and over in many ways.

Sarah
Love Sarah’s Playsilks! My child loves dressing up. We were butterflies for a fairy festival and all kinds of fun costumes for Halloween that can be used all year round. My child is very sensory seeking and they reach for Sarah’s products before anything else. So happy with our collection

My daughter loves dressing up and using silks as skirts or capes or wings as any addition to her costume sometimes they can even be a little cuddly blanket! Every time I ask her what she wants to be for Halloween it changes so she will be whoever she wants to be that day!

We just took a trip to Animal Kingdom, and my two-year-old would LOVE to own those safari animals. We aren’t the type of people who go frequently at all, and it will probably be a trip that won’t happen again anytime soon, so I would love to get the safari animals and silks for her to remind her of her special birthday trip! We love your play silks!

I got the silks for my granddaughter when she was 1 1/2. She is now 6 and still loves to play with them daily. Shes has bot narrowed down what she wants to be for Halloween. The fawn silk would be wonderful to use. Since they have moved to Bend Oregon and see deer everywhere. She loves to spot them out of the window while we’re driving.

My grandchildren (5, 3 and almost 3) LOVE playing with playsilk, a beautiful way for them to play pretend! I just purchased the giant rainbow, a pink and white one for our new baby granddaughter due any day now so she and her older siblings can round out their collection.

On a trip to the zoo, my kids saw and loved spotted skunks (of all things! But they are pretty cute – like tiny kittens). So when my little twinnies asked to be skunks for Halloween, we just rolled with it (they’re 3 years old). They certainly are little stinkers, after all! It’s been funny to hear them tell people after being asked about Halloween, “I’m gonna be a skunk!” They say it with so much joy! My 8-year-old decided to stick with the forest animals theme, but decided to go with the less stinky, more graceful form of the snowy owl. We have greatly enjoyed thrifting together for materials to make the costumes. We are all definitely looking forward to some fun dress up this Halloween!

My daycare kids would love this! Last year I had a princess, a firemen, a Evee and a policeman. Can’t wait to see what they’ll be this year. I have a little guy who loves animals. This set would be awesome for him 🍂🦓🦒

The kids change their minds as to what they want to be daily! We will see what we finally settle on!
